On November 1, 2019, the Yangtze River Delta Ecological and Green Integrated Development Demonstration Zone was officially inaugurated. Over the past six years, the Demonstration Zone has evolved from initial framework building to functional improvement, steadily turning development blueprints into tangible realities. At the Digital Wisdom Cloud Alley Campus of the Yangtze River Delta Smart Oasis, Zhejiang University, an emergency drinking water treatment equipment project incubated and introduced by the Smart Oasis has advanced from research and development to industrialization. Last September, Zhejiang Chimey Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. invested and established Zhejiang Qibing Emergency Equipment Co., Ltd. in Jiashan. Leveraging its core emergency drinking water treatment technologies and integrated processes, the company develops and manufactures complete sets of key emergency treatment equipment.

The individual portable seawater desalination device is a manual product under the emergency drinking water security technology and product portfolio. Developed over five years from project initiation to final launch, it features core independent technologies including domestically developed energy-recovery high-pressure pumps and low-pressure seawater desalination membranes. With a salt rejection rate of over 98.5%, the treated water fully meets domestic drinking water standards. The product is widely applicable to field operations, maritime rescue, and emergency water supply in disaster scenarios. At present, serialized products have completed small-batch trial production, testing and field application, gaining wide recognition from clients.

“We have completed the development of more than 20 serialized products to secure safe drinking water for people in diverse scenarios,” said Yang Yueping. “Jiashan and its surrounding areas boast strong supporting manufacturing capacity and sound information resources. Going forward, we will build an R&D and marketing center at the Smart Oasis, expanding our business from the Yangtze River Delta to the whole country.”

The establishment of Qibing Emergency Equipment is no coincidence. In recent years, the Yangtze River Delta Smart Oasis has built a complete industrial chain covering internal resource coordination, platform support and external industrial connection. For project incubation, the New Quality Productivity Promotion Department of the Smart Oasis has pioneered a “funding first, equity participation later” financial support model. For industrial introduction, it has jointly set up a special industrial promotion team with the Jiashan Demonstration Zone Administrative Committee. Centering on three key tasks — research achievement transformation, industrial docking and project introduction, the team coordinates the introduction of scientific and technological achievements, provides technical services for enterprises, promotes industrial project clustering, and fosters a future-oriented industrial ecosystem.
